1. My two sisters and my mother use the same purple hair dye as I do. We like to tell people it's genetic.

2. When I was a kid I went to circus school. I was a contortionist, and I also did stilts and tumbling and all that good fun stuff. My dad was a clown. The first time I broke a bone, it was falling off of a trapeze.

3. I have more than three big storage boxes full of yarn and half-finished knitting (and crocheting) projects, yet I feel constantly compelled to buy more yarn and start more projects.

4. I own roughly twice as many books as I have read.

5. I applied to four colleges, but only got accepted to my last choice, among them.

6. Practically everything I own is purple. My whole room is purple: ceiling, walls, carpet, bedding, curtains. Everything. I can tell what's mine and what's not by the purplitude of it.

7. Calculus represented a serious spiritual awakening for me, but I still got a C in the class.
