Two recs from [info]lgbtfest over on LJ!

Turning Pirate by [info]p0wdermonkey, R, PotC: pre-Bootstrap Bill Turner backstory. I loved the way [info]p0wdermonkey set this so elegantly into the historical context-- it feels incredibly real, and drags you along through Bill's pre-pirating life wonderfully.

aaaand,

Being Liquid by [info]rotaryphones, R, HP: Teddy/Victoire-- but emphatically not het. Teddy's gender, like the rest of him, is liquid. I love the characterization in this, especially of Teddy-- he knows what he feels, but occasionally there aren't really words for it (or, rather, he doesn't know there are words for it), and he just sort of takes words for his own purpose in a very realistic, endearing way. I also really like the OCs (not something you'll hear from me very often). They're there just enough to fill out the world, make everything feel right, but they don't overpower or take away from the story.
